Have you ever seen a lesion in a patient's mouth but were unable to provide a differential diagnosis? You probably studied oral lesions during dental hygiene school, but as with many other subjects, your memory may have faded.
Refreshing your memory about the most important oral lesions will allow you to provide better care, properly refer patients to specialists, and potentially save their lives. With the use of memory tricks, this session is fun and informative.
You will learn 50 oral pathologies with memory techniques called WakeUp Memory.
This unique approach will make the difficult information "stick" to your brain. You will feel that the new knowledge you gained is NOT leaving you.
That's when you know you are an effective dental professional. Audience rave about this technique.
Here is an example of how you will learn the key points of each condition:
"This is the best summary I have seen. The notes are organized and I use them in my clinic" - Riley M, RDH
METHODOLOGY
Our brain needs to actively connect the short-term memory with long-term memory. Otherwise, the information will be "deleted", like the dry cleaner's phone number you just dialed.
Together, we will discover the "change-connect" memory technique. This proven system has been around for thousands of years and is still used by memory champions. The presenter modified the proven technique to suit the dental professional.
1) Change: reimagine the information.
2) Connect: link the new information to something familiar.
For each pathology, there will be images, videos, tricks, and sound. For example, we will remember ulcers looks yellow in the center and is surrounded by a red halo. This appearance will be linked to the "red apple" that has red only on the outside.
The presenter will invite the attendees to image biting into the red apple and getting an ulcer. This experience will stimulate all parts of the brain to maximize the learning outcome.
The attendee will be provided a printed version of the summary table, which will also have space to make notes.
The course is designed to help both new and experienced dental professionals.
The presenter actively teaches this technique to students which have fantastic reviews, because it works!
